Anarchism is neither a creature of the right or the left.
It has roots in both views of the role of government.
But, fundamentally, on either side of the ideological divide, it is committed to the view that government as an institution is an evil, oppressive force.
The objective of anarchists is to de-legitimize government, bring about its downfall and establish a new order. That new order can either be some dreamlike conception of a communal Utopia or a survival-of-the-fittest order based upon the premise of individual rights.
